About him

Dr-Ing. h.c. Thomas Faustmann is the former Head of the Pre-Production Centre at AUDI AG in Ingolstadt. From 2016 to 2019 he was responsible for 90 managers and 2300 employees worldwide. The pre-series center is responsible for the start-up management of all Audi vehicle projects including Mexico, Europe and China. In addition to budget management, he was also responsible for project management, as well as monitoring, controlling and staffing human resources.

Previously, from 2004 to 2015, he was Chairman of the Board of Management at AUDI HUNAGRIA Zrt.. Strategic preparation, group-wide and political coordination, planning, realisation, construction and commissioning of an automobile plant with complete vertical integration fell within his comprehensive scope of duties. He took over the holistic processes from the ramp-up of production to the series production of 4 vehicle models.

From 2002 to 2004 he was also with AUDI HUNAGRIA Zrt. but as managing director of the engine production. Initially, from 1998 to 2002 he was the production manager for engines at Volkswagen AG.

In 2014 he was awarded an honorary doctorate at the University of Győr for founding and filling chairs at the university. Here he took on guest lectures, as well as the establishment of experimental laboratories.
